This Sheffield Students Union Lip dub was made by 350 students. It was choreographed, rehearsed and filmed in 7 hours.
The students of the University of Sheffield were casually invited to join together to sing, dance and make fools of themselves in the Students Union. And in this Sheffield Students’ Union Lip dub, we see lots of happy people. They are all dancing and singing, and I must say that the dancing scenes are not bad.
There are lots of different groups, all differenciated by the colors of their clothes or by the costumes they are wearing. We see the pom-pom girls doing some good things. The lipping of the participants is not bad at all.
There are 2 parts in the this Sheffield Students Union Lip dub. The fist part is done on a Queen song “Don’t stop me know”, and the other on a Take That song. Now I prefered the first part, because, well personnaly, I prefer the Queen song. It’s dynamic and it’s a happy song. The second song is a bit more calm and so gives a less energetic feeling.
What we liked is that both parts were filmed in a sequence shot, one of the rules of Lipdub, that is not always respected due to the large number of participants or big place.
You can even see the making of by taking a look at the photo gallery on the following link: Making of Sheffield Students Union Lip Dub.
Here are some comments from youtube for this Sheffield Students Union Lip Dub
“love it:) except for 2 things: 1. not always in sync.2. don’t think much of the first song, 2nd song was nice but not for a lip dub, cos it’s sort of a romantic, slow song. but hey that’s jus my opinion. overall tho, gr8 work guys!”
“guys.. great work.. its not easy to choreograph such a video.. Sheffield Students’ Union rocks.. No wonder it’s the best Union in UK
“
