Auchan Le Puy have just recently, in June 2011, realized a Lipdub. Well actually, they called it a Flashdub, a mix between Flashmob and Lipdub. Let us explain.
Supermarket Auchan Le Puy decided to do a Lipdub which they renamed as a Flashdub of Auchan Le Puy. It’s a mix of two words: Lipdub and Flashmob. A Flashmob is generally a group of people who get together in a public place to perform an unusual act (like a choreography) and then disperse. A Lipdub (you should know this by now if you have followed our blog posts
) is where people sing in playback on a song, filmed in a single shot. Well here, Auchan Le Puy, declare that they have done a Flashdub, a mix of the two.
Take a look at the video. The main part of the video looks like a Lipdub. The employees are having fun in the supermarket on a song, while the camera films them along the way. The video ends with a mass dance routine with the employees outside, we presume near the supermarket. So yes, they did in sort, mix both concepts to do a Flashdub of Auchan Le Puy.
What does our Lipdub team think about it?
What’s nice about this kind of Lipdub is that it shows us the whole supermarket and we see all the employees of Auchan Le Puy looking as if they are having fun (very good for team building). They tried to do a funny Lipdub (for example, milking a cow, the motorcycle driving through the shop…). And the choreography at the end is very well done. They all dance together, very synchronized.
However, it lacks a scenario. It seems that we go from one scene to the other without much consistency. It’s a shame that there are so many cuts. Also, there is almost no lipping.
